Extension of Armenian-European Policy and Legal Advice Centre (AEPLAC) Phase IV
Description
Since Armenia and the EU signed a Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA), the EU has been supporting its implementation mainly through the AEPLAC Project. AEPLAC IV started its operations in November 2005 and concentrated on institutional analysis and capacity building. Its activities have been grouped within four components: capacity building, policy and legal advice, public awareness and AEPLAC development. Objectives:To support the Ministry of Justice in rebuilding the translation centre, following an accidental fire in February 2008 and the 20-day state of emergency in Yerevan following the post-election events To allow the project to smoothly finalise its ongoing activities and to prepare the hand over to the next phase.The activities are divided into three main components:Component 1: Support to the translation centre Training on translation applied to specific areas of the Acquis Communautaire Support to the identification of priorities for translation Development of methodological manuals Component 2: Finalisation of ongoing activities Capacity building Policy and Legal Advice Public Awareness Component 3: Preparation of hand-over to next phase
